Millennial Influencer Visits Italy’s Amalfi Coast, Acts Like American in Review, and Gets Slaughtered in the Comments
Users argued that the reason the location was so beautiful was because of the difficult access
A millennial influencer took to TikTok to warn others about her trip to Italy’s Amalfi Coast, but users instead called her out for acting like “an American” and slammed her poor planning.
After seeing dozens of others traveling to Italy’s Amalfi Coast, influencer Lexi Jordan (@millenialallex) decided to make the trip herself. But after it turned out to be more than she bargained for, she turned to TikTok to share her qualms with the visit.
In a video posted in July, Jordan shared what travel influencers “don’t tell you” about making the trip to the country’s historic coast.
“First of all, it’s impossible to get here. You have to fly into Naples, then you have to take a train from Naples to Sorrento, then you have to stand in 90-degree weather waiting for a ferry to get on a ferry with all of your luggage — mind you we’ve been in Europe for two weeks,” Jordan said in the video.
Jordan said once she arrived at the coast, she learned that there were no cars and “no streets” to get to the spots with the best views. “You have to walk up 160 stairs with all of your luggage to get to the top of this gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous area,” she said in the TikTok.
The influencer added that the power also went out while she was there “because the Amalfi coast does not have the infrastructure to support this tourism.”

Jordan’s video has since amassed more than 1.5 million views on TikTok and has been reshared to Instagram where it garnered more than 2.8 million views. On both platforms, thousands of users gave the influencer little to no sympathy, and instead blamed her for not fully researching the spot.
“Well damn. They should have changed the entire infrastructure for you. Thoughts and prayers,” one person commented on TikTok. “The reason why it’s so beautiful is because there is not a f---ing 18-lane highway and an airport next to it,” another wrote on Instagram.
Other users claimed Jordan wanted a place that was “Americanized” and called her “entitled.”
One person commented, “What do people expect when they go to places older than cars? That’s literally why these places are so beautiful and popular.”
In the caption of her video, Jordan recommended that others looking to visit the destination “stay for at least a week,” and noted that she only stayed for two days.
