After being sued by thousands of former employees for allegedly unpaid severance, Elon Musk’s X may be moving towards a settlement.

Bloomberg reported that a lawyer representing 2,000 laid off employees had communicated to them that the site once known as Twitter had agreed to mediation.

“After 10 months of pressing them in every direction we have succeeded in getting Twitter to the table,” attorney Shannon Liss-Riordan wrote to her clients. “Twitter wants to mediate with us in a global attempt to settle all claims we have filed.”

Thousands of employees were let go from X in the months after Musk’s purchase. Around 2,200 of them had filed for arbitration after they accused the company of not paying agreed on severance - a process the company had delayed by not paying court fees.

The mediation will reportedly take place on Dec. 1 and 2.

Liss-Riordan did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
X is facing numerous other lawsuits, including one alleging discrimination on sex and race.
