Apple Confirms Limited Apple Card and Apple Pay Outage
The outage started at 6:15 a.m. EST, and while Apple has confirmed it, the company has provided no timeline on when it may be resolved
It's turning out to be a tough holiday season for Apple. After revealing that it will be halting sales of the lucrative Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 earlier this week, today the company is experiencing an outage with its Apple Pay, Apple Card and Apple Cash payment services.
According to MacRumors, the outage started earlier today at 6:15 a.m. EST. The 'System Status' page on Apple's website, which indicates the availability of the company's various services, still lists the Apple Card, Apple Cash and Apple Pay & Wallet services with an 'Outage' status.
Apple told MacRumors that only "some users" were being affected by the outage, including customers attempting to make online purchases or in-app payments using Apple Pay. However, the outage is reportedly not affecting customers making purchases in physical retail stores using Apple Pay.
It is currently not known what has caused the outage, or when it will finally be resolved.
