New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson exited late in the first half against the Miami Dolphins with a head injury. Trevor Semien replaced him under center. Per Jeff Darlington of ESPN, the team initially said that the injury is not a concussion. The team later tweeted that it was indeed a concussion.

Darlington reported that Wilson exited the first half early because of dehydration but did not come out for second half due to head injury, yet was not being evaluated for a concussion at that time. He later entered the concussion protocol for the second time in the game and was then diagnosed with a concussion.

Wilson was under duress from the outset Sunday, getting sacked four times in the first half. He was 4-of-11, mustering just 26 yards through the air as the Jets trailed 24-0 at the break. Wilson was coming off the best game of his season, throwing for 301 yards and two touchdowns against the Houston Texans last week.

Amidst reports that Aaron Rodgers could be medically cleared to return this week, it might be wise for him not to do so behind a depleted, injured offensive line and the Jets' playoff hopes all but dashed.
