USWNT Netflix World Cup Docuseries Trailer Released Ahead of December Premiere
The four-part series covers Megan Rapinoe's final World Cup run, manager Vlatko Andonovski's questionable substitution tactics, and how the USWNT made an impact in the fight for equal pay
A Netflix documentary series on the U.S. Women's National Team's World cup failure will premiere Dec. 12.
The four-part series, "Under Pressure: The U.S. Women's World Cup Team" covers Megan Rapinoe's final World Cup run, manager Vlatko Andonovski's performance which led to his firing, and how the USWNT made an impact off the field, leading to a polarizing reception from America.
"We've used success to make things better," Rapinoe says in the trailer.
The trailer was released Tuesday morning, showing footage from Round of 16 penalty shootout loss in August.
Heading into the World Cup in Australia/New Zealand, the USWNT had won the previous two iterations in 2015 and 2019.
Shooting for an historic third consecutive with a squad involving aging stars like Rapinoe, Alex Morgan and Julie Ertz, the USWNT spectacularly failed with the celebrated, and equally disliked, Megan Rapinoe missing the PK which sent the U.S. home.
