Tyreek Hill Says House Is ‘Done’ After Fire
'Smoke damage. Fire damage,' Hill said on the latest episode of 'Hard Knocks.' 'The whole upstairs is burnt down'
Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill's house sustained significant damage in a recent fire. During the eighth episode of Hard Knocks: In Season with the Miami Dolphins, the 29-year-old said his house was "done."
"Smoke damage. Fire damage," Hill said. "The whole upstairs is burnt down."
Hill's home, located in Southwest Ranches, Florida — near the team's facility — caught fire at around 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 3, with firefighters putting out the blaze in the Fort Lauderdale suburb. No one was injured in the fire.
One firefighter told NBC6 Miami that the fire was limited to the attic and roof, but that the rest of the house had smoke damage. On Thursday, Davie Fire Rescue labeled the incident "unintentional," saying it was caused by a child playing with matches or a lighter.
Hill, in his second season with the Dolphins, played in Miami's Sunday night game against the Buffalo Bills. He finished with seven catches for 82 yards and a touchdown.
The Dolphins face the Kansas City Chiefs in the wild-card round on Saturday.
