Brian 'BoMac' McIntyre, undisputed welterweight boxing champion Terence 'Bud' Crawford's trainer, was arrested and charged at Manchester Airport with possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition for a
firearm without a certificate, authorities said in a statement.

Airport security found a loaded gun in McIntyre's luggage around 5:45 a.m. ET, leading to his arrest. McIntyre, 53, will remain in a Manchester jail until his date in Manchester Crown Court on Oct. 9.

McIntyre, who most recently was training Chris Eubanks Jr, was flying back to the United States following Eubanks's win against Liam Smith.

Crawford is due for a rematch with former three-belt welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. The contract for the July fight gave the loser, Spence, the right to a rematch later this year. Spence has said he is aiming for a December fight date.
