Team USA Trounces Jordan to Win FIBA World Cup Group
The U.S. advances to the next round with the 110-62 win
After winning its first two group games of the FIBA World Cup first round, Team USA put up a definitive showing against Jordan to win 110-62 Wednesday in Manila, Philippines.
The U.S. was dominant from the start, scoring 62 points in the first half. It's the least experienced U.S. roster at an international competition, but Jordan couldn't compete.
Anthony Edwards, a player to watch this tournament, led the way with 22 points and eight rebounds, while starting guard Josh Hart ended with 12 rebounds and Bobby Portis Jr. came off the bench with 13 points and three steals. Jaren Jackson Jr. (12) and Jalen Brunson (10) also ended with double-digit points.
After overcoming an early scare against New Zealand on Saturday, Team USA defeated Greece 109-81 on Monday. Now, with the win over Jordan, the U.S. wins Group C with six points and a point differential of 103.
The team will play Montenegro on Friday in the next round of the World Cup.
