Simone Biles Is Building a Lakefront Mansion With NFL Player Husband Jonathan Owens — How Big Is It?
One thing that certainly won't happen in the new house is arguments about whether football or gymnastics is a better sport
Simone Biles and her husband, Green Bay Packers safety Jonathan Owens, are building a large mansion together in Texas after getting married in April.
Biles showed off a glimpse into the progress of the mansion in an Instagram post on Friday.
Biles showed off just how high the ceilings will be in her and Owens' main common area and the view of her lakefront backyard through their sliding glass doors.
Biles even went out of the way to show off the drywall, on her Instagram story.
Still, the house is still visibly far from completion, as only a wooden frame can be seen with minimal progress on the flooring and no visible progress yet on wall or moldings aside from the one room of drywall she showed.
The couple first announced construction on the house in December of 2022 and only just cleared the lot at the Texas property on Feb. 20, seen in an Instagram highlight reel titled "home build." They then broke ground in March.
She has shared several updates throughout this year that flaunt various aspects of the home's construction.

In October, she showed off the unfinished exterior of the house, revealing it to be which was covered in plaster and surrounded by leveled dirt. That photo revealed the mansion be two stories high with several multi-story windows. It's entrance lobby, which Biles showed off the interior of on Friday, took up two stories.
Biles has previously shown off where eventual balconies and upper level room including include a bedroom, bathroom, a theater, and a game room complete with a wet bar.
The couple got legally married in April but had their wedding in Mexico on May 8. The question now remains if the mansion will be completed in time for the couple to spend their first anniversary there.
But one thing that certainly won't happen in the new house is arguments about whether football or gymnastics is a better sport.
Biles confirmed that they have argued about whether Biles' sport of gymnastics or Owens' sport of football was better, during a keynote speech at the 2023 Global Wellness Summit. However, they had to put that argument to rest once they got married in April.
"He’s just as passionate for football as I am gymnastics. We’re both very driven and determined," Biles said during her speech. "One misconception is that we argue over which sport is better, and yes, we do. We actually agreed once we got married we had to stop talking it about with each other. We both respect each other’s sports, work hard, and want the best for each other. We have a really good relationship.”
