Raiders’ Maxx Crosby Could Request a Trade if Antonio Pierce Is Not Named Head Coach: Report
Coming off a career season, Raiders' Maxx Crosby is making his support for interim head coach Antonio Pierce loud and clear
With news of Antonio Pierce's interview for the Tennessee Titans' vacant head coaching job Saturday, Raiders star pass rusher Maxx Crosby continues to make his support for Las Vegas' interim head coach abundantly clear.
In fact, per a report by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport & Tom Pelissero, Crosby will consider requesting a trade if Pierce is not hired as the team's head coach.
On his podcast The Rush with Maxx Crosby released Saturday, the 26-year-old said he wants to be a Raider but, "if we go in a different direction, there’s nothing that’s off the table.”
“Let us build this thing and let’s see what we can do with it,” Crosby said. “If it doesn’t work, then it doesn’t work, but I believe in him and I know this s— is going in the right direction and I feel like everybody else does as well. So, we got to do what’s right and bring A.P. back and bring (interim GM) Champ [Kelly] back, no question about it.”
Pierce went 5-4 after taking over for the fired Josh McDaniels, quickly gaining the trust and endorsement of the locker room, including from stars Davante Adams and Josh Jacobs.
“With AP, I am definitely 100 percent in,” Jacobs said to The Athletic after the Raiders' season-finale. “However it looks, whatever it looks like.”
Owner Mark Davis seems to understand the players' perspective, if not even sharing their desire to retain the 45-year-old.

“I would love for the guys that are in this job right now to be able to keep it,” Davis said to The Athletic last month, “but we’ll see how that goes.”
Kelly, who became the Raiders' interim general manager this season and has received similar endorsement from players, is interviewing with Las Vegas for the GM position Saturday.
Assuming Kelly is the selection, it could speed up the process of the team solidifying their head coach situation.
Crosby is coming off the best season of his career, recording 90 tackles and 14.5 sacks in 17 games.
