The Philadelphia Phillies are two wins away from their second straight National League pennant.

Philadelphia, powered by three homers from Trea Turner and Kyle Schwarber and spectacular sixth and seventh innings, seized control of the NLCS in Game 2 against the Arizona Diamondbacks, with a 10-0 win at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia on Tuesday night to take a 2-0 series lead.

The Phillies are now 6-0 at home this postseason. Game 3 in the best-of-seven series is Thursday at Chase Field in Phoenix.

The Phillies will head into that matchup with a chance to take a commanding 3-0 lead, with their long-ball dominance serving as the primary reason why. Philadelphia came into Tuesday with 16 homers so far this postseason, and Turner and Schwarber added three more to that tally in style in Game 2.

First, it was Turner launching a shot to left-center field in the bottom of the first, with the 30-year-old knowing exactly where the ball was headed the moment it left his bat.

Schwarber joined the party in the bottom of the third, hitting his second homer in as many games in this NLCS. The ball, a line-drive to right field, did not clear the wall by much, but it counted all the same, with the Phillies doubling their lead in the process.

Diamondbacks starter Merrill Kelly entered the contest of 10 days rest after allowing just three hits in 6 1/3 innings in Arizona's Game 1 victory against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLDS. However, Philadelphia made Kelly's life much more difficult on Tuesday night, with Arizona manger Torey Luvollo taking out his starter after Schwarber's second homer in the bottom of the sixth.

That made it 6-0, and ended any flicker of hope the Diamondbacks had. For good measure, Philadelphia added four runs in the bottom of the seventh, as third baseman Alec Bohm drove in Schwarber and first baseman Bryce Harper, Realmuto drove in Bohm and right fielder Nick Castellanos drove in Stott.

Philadelphia was also aided greatly by starting pitcher Aaron Nola, who struck out seven batters -- and gave up only three hits -- in six innings of work.

With the series heading to the desert, Philadelphia has a chance to reach consecutive World Series for the first time since 2008 and 2009.

Game 3 is set for 5:07 p.m. ET on Thursday, with the Diamondbacks announcing on Tuesday that rookie righty Brandon Pfaadt will take the mound. The Phillies are expected to trot out lefty Ranger Suárez, who has allowed just four hits in 8 2/3 innings of work this postseason.
