Orioles Name Kyle Bradish as Game 1 Starter vs. Rangers, Grayson Rodriguez to Start Game 2
Bradish had the third-lowest ERA in the American League and will take the mound for Baltimore's first playoff game since 2016
The Baltimore Orioles have named Kyle Bradish as their Game 1 starter for the American League Division Series, and rookie Grayson Rodriguez as the Game 2 starter.
The Orioles will host the Texas Rangers at Camden Yards on Saturday in the team's first playoff appearance since 2016. The Rangers and Orioles split their season series at three games each.
In his second major league season, Bradish went 12-7 and had a 2.83 ERA, the third-lowest in the AL and the best by an Orioles’ pitcher since Mike Mussina in 1992.
Rodriguez went 7-4 in his rookie season after a rough start that resulted in him being sent down to Triple-A Norfolk, and has had a 2.58 ERA since the All-Star break.
In two starts against the Rangers this season, Rodriguez went 0-1 with a 10.80 ERA, while Bradish had a 1.08 ERA in two starts against Texas.
