NFL Denies Appeal of Eagles Security Chief Dom DiSandro’s Sideline Ban: Report
DiSandro was ejected along with San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw after the two fought on the sidelines on Dec. 3
After the NFL handed down a $100,000 fine and a sideline ban to Philadelphia Eagles security chief Dom DiSandro after an interaction with a player, he and the Eagles appealed the punishment. That appeal has been denied, per Rob Maaddi of the Associated Press.
DiSandro was ejected along with San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw after the two fought on the sidelines of their Dec. 3 matchup.
In the scuffle, DiSandro pulled Greenlaw off Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith after a reception. Greenlaw popped up and reached over two officials to touch DiSandro's face with a closed fist. While Greenlaw was ejected, DiSandro also was told to leave and walked to the locker room to a roaring ovation from Eagles fans.
A few days after the incident, the NFL reminded staff that they are not allowed to interact with players in that kind of confrontational way, especially physical contact.
DiSandro was then banned from the sideline going forward — initially for the short term, and then for the rest of the season.
DiSandro is still allowed to travel with the team and can perform all other work duties, but cannot stand with the team on the field during games. His duties include directing security at the Eagles' training complex, as well as being responsible for security measures around team travel and logistics.

After the game, Greenlaw was later fined $10,927 by the league for the unnecessary roughness penalty. Philadelphia was fined $100,000 for DiSandro's role in the altercation. Per Maaddi, the Eagles paid the fine; additionally, while fines are often reduced in the appeals process, this one was not.
