‘My Roman Empire Is Caitlin Clark’ Shirt Goes Viral During Iowa Star’s Sell-Out Game at Rutgers
Clark recorded a 29-point triple-double in the 103-69 win over Rutgers
The Caitlin Clark effect was on full display at Jersey Mike's Arena in Piscataway, New Jersey on Friday night.
No. 4 Iowa visited Rutgers for a Big Ten matchup, and the visiting Hawkeyes helped draw the Scarlet Knights women's team's first sell-out crowd since 2006.
There were plenty of Clark fans in attendance, and some of them got creative with their support.
One fan was spotted wearing a shirt that read "My Roman Empire is Caitlin Clark," applying the recent Roman Empire trend circulating social media. The shirt was yellow for the Hawkeyes school colors and included pictures of Clark making funny faces around the words.
Clark did not disappoint, completing a triple-double with nine minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. The senior star finished with 29 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Iowa improved to 15-1 overall, including 4-0 in the Big Ten, while Rutgers fell to 6-11, 0-4 in conference play.
Clark wasn't the only special guest in the building on Friday night, as legendary Big Ten coach Vivian Stringer, who coached at both Rutgers and Iowa, was honored with a pregame ceremony.
Stringer retired following the 2021-22 season after 27 seasons with Rutgers, including 17 trips to the NCAA Tournament. She previously spent 12 seasons with the Hawkeyes, leading Iowa to nine consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, including two Elite Eights and one Final Four.
