Montreal Canadiens’ Stanley Cup Trophy Damaged After Being Knocked Over During Travis Scott Concert at Bell Centre
The bass in Travis Scott's concert in Montreal was so powerful that it knocked over several Stanley Cup trophies in the Bell Centre
Rapper Travis Scott put on an electrifying performance for fans at Montreal's Bell Centre Tuesday night.
In fact, the music was so powerful that it knocked over three of the Canadiens' Stanley Cup trophies on display in the 21,000-seat arena, even damaging one according to Kelly Greig of CTV News Montreal.
As of Thursday night, Montreal's 1923-24 replic Stanley Cup remained missing from the team's trophy case and is presumably the damaged trophy. Luckily, the franchise has a bunch of them.
Montreal is the winningest team in NHL history, with23 championships. However, the Canadiens have not won a title since the 1992-93 season when they defeated the Los Angeles Kings in five games.
The team most recently appeared in the Stanley Cup Finals in 2020-21, losing to the Tampa Bay Lightning, also in five games. Montreal has not returned to the postseason since.
This season, the Canadiens have 40 points through 41 games, currently sitting in sixth in the Eastern Conference Atlantic Division.
