Lions’ Jameson Williams ‘Ready to Go’ After Reinstatement From Gambling Suspension
Williams' original six-game gambling suspension was shortened to four after the NFL updated its gambling policies
Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams has rejoined the team after his original six-game suspension was cut short due to the NFL's new gambling policies.
On Monday, head coach Dan Campbell said that Williams' return was 'uncertain,' but the second-year wide receiver assured reporters on Tuesday that he is 'ready to go.'
"I did a lot of catching, I have a JUGS machine at the house," Williams told reporters. "I was doing like 100 a day, but it was everyday. You can do the math on that. It was a lot of catches.
“It’s just a process. Whatever [offensive coordinator] Ben [Johnson] got going on for me, we’re going to get in; we’re going to execute; we’re going to make it a good time.”
Williams was a full participant in practice for the first time on Tuesday, and said he felt good, both physically and with regards to understanding the system.
"I feel good, today was one of the better days in the last month that I've had," Williams said. "We had a good day yesterday, but today I put pads on and I felt good out there with the guys.
"I don't think it will take a lot of time [to get in sync with the offense...] We had time in camp, we just had some time today. After practice we get whatever we think is good, whatever we think we need."

There will be pressure on the young wide receiver as he joins a thriving Detroit offense that ranks eighth in the league in receiving yards per game at 386.3 and has scored 26.5 points per game through its first four games.
"I ain't really tripping about that," Williams said about the expectations. "I've stated a couple of times, I'm just trying to win. We're 3-1 right now, just trying to keep that going."
The Lions host the Carolina Panthers on Sunday as they look to improve to 4-1 which would be their best start since 2017.
