LeBron James’ Son Bronny Will Miss His First Game for USC After Cardiac Arrest Incident
James will not play in the Hall of Fame Classic against Kansas State in Las Vegas on Monday, USC's coach told The Messenger
USC freshman guard LeBron "Bronny" James Jr. will sit out Monday's opener against Kansas State, USC coach Andy Enfield told The Messenger.
James, the son of four-time NBA MVP LeBron James, went into cardiac arrest during a workout in July. His return to full play is still uncertain.
James, a McDonald's All-American and former four-star recruit, committed to USC in May after being the No. 19 recruit in the country.
But on July 24, he collapsed at USC practice and was hospitalized. The James family announced the news the following day, adding that Bronny was in stable condition and out of the ICU.
In August, the family revealed that the cause of Bronny's cardiac arrest was a treatable congenital heart defect, meaning that it was possible he could return to play before long. LeBron James dedicated his season with the Los Angeles Lakers to his son at the beginning of October.
