LeBron James Happy To See Bronny ‘Smiling and Alive’

When Bronny James collapsed during USC practice in July, his life — let alone basketball career — was in jeopardy. Now, the son of the NBA's all-time leading scorer is inching closer to his collegiate debut.

On Tuesday night, Bronny took in the Lakers' 106-103 win vs. Phoenix, something LeBron doesn't take for granted.

"First of all, it's not just Bronny at a game," James said during a Wednesday press conference.

"It's just Bronny, period. To have the ability to be able to point at him and see him smiling and alive. It's literally that simple.

"To have that moment with my son — knowing the situation that happened in the summer — just to have that. Not saying that I took it for granted before, but it puts everything in perspective, for sure."

Bronny has missed USC's (5-3) first eight games of the 2023-24 season as he recovers from the cardiac arrest, but has been practicing with the team and participating in pregame warmups of late.

Although Bronny has been cleared for full basketball activity for nearly a month, USC head coach Andy Enfield is slowly working the freshman back into the fold as Bronny gets into game shape and is back to his basketball self.

If anyone is excited for Bronny's debut, it's his father. LeBron has already stated he will miss a Lakers game if it clashes with Bronny's collegiate debut.
