Sports personality Katie Nolan, who has been associated with networks like Fox Sports, ESPN, NBC Sports and more, advanced to the semifinals of Celebrity Jeopardy! on Wednesday night after winning a nail-biting tiebreaker.

Nolan competed against actor and talk show host Sherri Shepard and actor Christopher Meloni, best known for Law & Order. After entering Final Jeopardy! with a significant lead — $14,100, compared to Meloni's $8,800 and Shepard's $900 — Nolan and Meloni found themselves tied after answering the question correctly. Meloni had wagered his entire sum, while Nolan had wagered $3,500.

"I made a mistake," Nolan said as her wager was revealed.

"You just had to wager more than $3,500," host Ken Jennings said.

"Right, and I wagered $3,500," Nolan said, before lightheartedly shouting out, "I'm a MORON!"

Things then moved to a tiebreaker, as Meloni and Nolan were tied at $17,600. But things worked out for Nolan, who answered the tiebreaking question first, and with the correct answer — "bourbon."

Nolan's win moves her on to the semifinals to join the winners from the past two weeks, actors Utkarsh Ambudkar and Lisa Ann Walter. The contestants in the remaining six episodes of the quarterfinals have yet to be announced.

Jeopardy! added the Celebrity Jeopardy! spinoff as part of sweeping changes made to the program following the death of longtime host Alex Trebek in 2021.

Celebrities are given the chance to compete for winnings that are donated to the charity of their choice. Nolan played on behalf of the Association for Women in Sports Media, an organization dedicated to growing the presence of women in sports media.
