Despite a frustrating 31-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills Sunday, Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones continued to sing the praises of head coach Mike McCarthy during his weekly spot on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas. The team currently sits at 10-4 and following the Philadelphia Eagles' Monday night loss in Seattle, the Cowboys is leading the NFC East.

"He’s coached three playoff teams in a row. I think he’s done an outstanding job. I think the fact that he’s your offensive coordinator as well as your head coach puts him in higher stead than when he was the walk-around coach," Jones said on 105.3 The Fan. "All of those things are positive."

With Dallas clinching a playoff bid already, McCarthy has now led the franchise to the playoffs three straight seasons. He has also taken over the play-calling responsibilities and the Cowboys' offense ranks sixth in the league in total yards. The team has looked dominant at points, hence the fan bases' frustration after getting blown out in Buffalo.

"I frankly said to the staff yesterday, ‘You got us in this spot to be as disappointed as we are about the Buffalo deal and our loss there. It’s your fault because y’all have done such a great job of getting our team to where we, our fans, everybody have the expectations that we have. You pushed us up here. …Hats off to you,’" Jones continued.

A strong finish over the last three weeks and a division title would secure Dallas at least one home playoff game. This could be critical considering all four of the team's losses have come on the road.

"In other words, I didn’t spend my day in there looking grumpy or however you might look, even though we were all disappointed. The best part of our team this year has been the coaching staff,” Jones concluded

The Cowboys will travel to Miami this week before hosting the Detroit Lions in Week 17, wrapping up the regular season in Washington against the Commanders.
