Memphis Grizzlies center Steven Adams is out for the season after undergoing surgery in his right knee, the team announced Sunday.

Adams hasn't played in a regular-season game since he sustained the injury in January. "Non-operative rehabilitation did not resolve ongoing knee instability," the team said in a statement.

Memphis expects him to make a full recovery by the 2024-25 season.

In two preseason games for the Grizzlies, Adams scored nine points and had 10 rebounds across 27 minutes. He's under contract through 2024-25 after signing a two-year, $25.2 million extension last year. Since he joined the Grizzlies in 2021, he's averaged 7.5 points and 10.6 rebounds per game.

Adams, 30, was the No. 12 pick in the 2013 NBA Draft to the Oklahoma City Thunder, where he played from 2013-2020.
