New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll told reporters on Friday that quarterback Daniel Jones will miss Sunday night's primetime matchup against the Buffalo Bills due to a neck injury.

Jones, 26, left in the fourth quarter of New York's 31-16 loss to the Miami Dolphins last Sunday, after he was sacked by Miami linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel. He was replaced by longtime veteran Tyrod Taylor, who will get the start against Buffalo.

In five games this season, Jones has struggled, completing 68.9% of his attempts for 884 yards, two touchdowns and six interceptions. He has also been sacked a league-high 28 times.

This is not the first time the former first round pick has dealt with neck issues.

Jones missed the final six games of the 2021 season with a neck injury; he told reporters earlier this week that this is a different injury.

Starting left tackle Andrew Thomas, starting center John Michael Schmitz, backup offensive tackle Matt Peart and starting outside linebacker Azeez Ojulari have also been ruled out for Week 6.

The Giants (1-4) face the Bills (3-2) at 8:20 p.m. ET on Sunday.
