Fire Alarms Go Off at FedEx Field After Commanders Loss to Dolphins
The fire alarms went off after the Miami Dolphins' 45-15 defeat of the Washington Commanders — the latest incident at FedEx Field
FedEx Field had a post-game issue, again.
After Sunday's matchup between the Miami Dolphins and Washington Commanders — a 45-15 win for Miami — the fire alarms at the stadium went off.
Lights and alarms began blaring while players spoke to media in the locker room. Players, media, staff and more were ordered to clear the building.
The cause of the alarms going off was not immediately clear.
A few weeks ago, there was no hot water in the Commanders and Giants' locker rooms due to an equipment failure at FedEx Field.
FedEx Field, home of the Commanders, is one of the lowest-valued stadiums in the league and has been frequently cited as one of the worst NFL stadiums, ranked as the worst by USA Today and The Athletic. The stadium is known for poor facilities and has had multiple incidents in the past few years — with the fire alarms being the latest.

At the end of August, Commanders announced a plan to invest $40 million into upgrading the stadium. According to the press release, the renovations will focus on improving "fan experience," with new suites, new ticket scanning and team branding around the stadium; the upgrades also appear to include maintenance repairs and new paint.
New Commanders owner Josh Harris recently said that improvements to the 27-year-old stadium are part of his plan to invest in the team's future, even as the team looks for a potential new home after the stadium agreement ends in 2027.
