Emotional Support Alligator Attends Flyers-Hurricanes Game after Rejection from Phillies’ Stadium

In September, the Philadelphia Phillies denied the alligator access to Citizens Bank Park

Wally, the emotional support alligator and Instagram/TikTok sensation, appeared during the “Lion King Cam” Monday night at Wells Fargo Center.

By the stadium's reaction during the Philadelphia Flyers' loss, Wally might have been the star of the night.

Wally has risen to prominence in large part to a rejection. In September, the Philadelphia Phillies denied the alligator access to Citizens Bank Park because the stadium policy states that "certified service dogs or service dogs in training for guests with special needs are welcome. All other animals are prohibited."

"WallyGator" is a working emotional support alligator owned by Joie Henney, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer. Henney told The Inquirer that Wally helps him battle depression and "likes to give hugs."

He adopted the alligator in 2015, telling CNN that he's a reptile rescuer who's worked with alligators for over 30 years. A friend in Florida had contacted him about gators being in danger due to land development.

The Flyers mascot, Gritty, and Wally also posed for photos together as the Carolina Hurricanes beat the Flyers, 3-2. Almost as exciting, almost, Phillies star Bryce Harper was also in attendance Monday night.
