Eagles vs. Seahawks Will Be First-Ever NFL Game Flexed to Monday Night
The Eagles' 21-17 win against the Kansas City Chiefs on Nov. 20 was the most-watched Monday Night Football game in 27 years
The 10-1 Philadelphia Eagles are at the top of the NFL, and now they'll play under the lights for at least one more week.
The NFL announced Thursday that it will flex the schedule for Week 15, moving the Eagles' matchup with the Seattle Seahawks to Monday Night Football on December 18.
It is the first time that NFL has ever flexed a game into Monday Night Football.
As a result of the historic move, the originally-scheduled game between the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs will be played on Sunday, Dec. 17 at 1 p.m.
The NFL introduced the ability to flex schedules for Sunday Night Football in 2006, giving the league a chance to control schedules for more exciting matchups in prime time. In 2023, the NFL expanded flexing to Monday and Thursday Night Football on a trial basis.
Now, after the switch, the Seahawks and Eagles will be given another shot at prime time. The 6-5 Seahawks, who are on a two-game skid, will try to fend off the red-hot Eagles at home.

The move could prove to be a good business decision for ESPN. The Eagles' 21-17 win against the Kansas City Chiefs on Nov. 20 was the most-watched Monday Night Football game in 27 years.
The NFL had the opportunity to switch the Dec. 11 game between the Green Bay Packers and New York Giants, both teams with losing records, out of Monday night, but that one will stay in primetime.
In addition, the NFL had announced a triple-header on Saturday, December 16: Minnesota Vikings at Cincinnati Bengals, Pittsburgh Steelers at Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos at Detroit Lions. All three games will air on the NFL Network.
