Dennis Rodman, five-time NBA champion and...babysitter?

In Wednesday's broadcast of the Sacramento Kings' 125-110 win over the Los Angeles Lakers, former player and coach Doc Rivers explained that he once let Rodman babysit his four kids for a night out when he was in San Antonio.

Rivers and Rodman were teammates on the San Antonio Spurs from 1994-1995, when Rivers' kids were young.

"It was a one-time thing," Rivers clarified.

Rivers said that it was the eclectic (and often controversial) All-Star forward's idea. "He was over at the house, and he actually said, 'Hey, I can do that, I love babysitting,'" Rivers recalled.

Rivers said that Rodman did "a great job," other than one thing: "The house was a mess," Rivers said.

"I don't know if I'm parent of the year or the worst parent," Rivers joked.

After ending his playing career and spending more than two decades as an NBA head coach, Rivers was fired by the Philadelphia 76ers in May, and joined ESPN as an analyst. Rivers called Wednesday's game along with ESPN announcer Dave Pasch.

Rivers has four kids. All three of his boys have played basketball, and his second-to-youngest, Austin Rivers, plays in the NBA. His daughter, Callie, is married to Dallas Mavericks guard Seth Curry.
