Dak Prescott Says Turkey Leg Celebration Was Cleared by Jerry Jones, Mike McCarthy Pregame: ‘Of Course Jerry Liked It’

The celebration came after Prescott's fourth touchdown in a 45-10 win over the Washington Commanders

After throwing his fourth touchdown in a 45-10 beatdown of the Washington Commanders on Thanksgiving, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott treated himself to a turkey leg, a celebration pre-approved by owner Jerry Jones and head coach Mike McCarthy.

“Team effort. Team idea," Prescott said postgame. "We talked about it. It was probably a two or three day process.

"Whether it would be a 15-yard penalty. Weather coach (McCarthy) would accept it.

"I go talk to [McCarthy] before every game. I caught him as he was talking to Jerry. I mentioned it. Of course Jerry liked it."

Prescott and Kevontae Turpin, who caught the touchdown pass, jumped into the Salvation Army Kettle and unwrapped a turkey leg. The Turkey legs were intentionally placed in the kettle, as CBS sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson said on the broadcast.

There was not a flag called on the play for the excessive celebration, something that the league officials seem to be cracking down on this season.

The league is also handing out more frequent fines for instances like this, and it would not come as a huge surprise if Prescott and company face one in the coming days.

Prescott's night came to a close after that touchdown. A pick-six from cornerback DaRon Bland on Washington's next drive extended the Dallas lead to 45-10 with just under five minutes remaining, and the Commanders maintained possession for the duration of the game.
