Cooper Kupp to Make Season Debut for Rams Against Philadelphia Eagles
Kupp missed the first four games of the season with a hamstring injury he suffered in August, and will make his season debut on Sunday
All-Pro wide receiver Cooper Kupp will make his return for the Los Angeles Rams against the Philadelphia Eagles, head coach Sean McVay announced.
Kupp suffered a hamstring injury at the beginning of August, and tried to work his way back for the Rams' season opener. However, a setback caused him to miss that game and ultimately resulted in him being placed on the Injured Reserve.
Now that Kupp has served his mandatory four-week stint on the IR, he will be activated to the Rams' 53-man roster on either Friday or Saturday, and will play in Week 5.
Rookie wide receiver Puka Nacua has made the most of Kupp's absence this season, becoming the Rams' top wide receiver without the Super Bowl LVI MVP on-hand.
Entering Week 5, Nacua is averaging 125.3 receiving yards per game, the second-most in the NFL behind reigning Offensive Player of the Year Justin Jefferson.
Kupp averaged 90.2 yards per game and six touchdowns in nine starts for the Rams last season. With Kupp and Nacua running routes and catching passes from Matthew Stafford in McVay's system, opposing secondaries will constantly be on their heels.
