Charlotte head coach Biff Poggi announced on Saturday that multiple 49er players had been suspended for one game after the program's 38-16 home loss to FAU on Friday.

The defeat moved Charlotte to 2-6 (1-3 in the AAC) on the season. The 49ers' lone wins came against South Carolina State of the FCS and last week against East Carolina (1-6, 0-3 in the AAC).

"I am extremely disappointed with our comportment as a football team against FAU," Poggi said in a statement. "I have made the decision to immediately suspend various players for our game against Tulsa."

The statement said that Poggi, who is in his first year at Charlotte after two seasons as the associate head coach at Michigan, will not be naming the players who were suspended.
