Charles Barkley Calls NFL ‘Greedy Pigs,’ Says He’s ‘Disgusted’ With Chiefs-Dolphins Airing Exclusively on Peacock
Barkley said he would boycott the game if he were able to watch it
Former NBA star Charles Barkley is not happy about the deal between the NFL and NBC that will have the wild card playoff game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins stream exclusively on Peacock.
Barkley expressed his displeasure during an interview with ESPN Chicago on Thursday.
“Showing this game not on cable, that’s low class,” Barkley said. “That’s not cool, they’re just being greedy pigs. I’m glad some NFL players are taking some shots at them.
"I know the NFL is the biggest thing in the world, but to put this game on Peacock and make people have to buy Peacock, that’s just low class. I’m disgusted.
Barkley said he doesn't have time to watch the game because he'll be busy recording commercials for an upcoming Capital One campaign that is set to air during March Madness. But, if Barkley did have the time to watch it, he says he would refuse and boycott the game and service.
“They sold the game for 110 million,” Barkley continued. “And I know that’s a lot of money, but the NFL is making $20 billion a year. To screw your fans like that, it’s just not cool at all…That’s just flat out greedy and I’m disappointed in the NFL.”

Barkley is not the first person to speak out against the league for the Peacock exclusivity.
Chiefs defensive end Charles Omenihu, who will be playing in the game, has openly expressed his displeasure with this decision and is making amends in his own way by handing out 90 three-month Peacock memberships on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday.
