Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams has suffered a season-ending knee injury after an MRI Monday confirmed that Williams has torn his ACL.

Williams had 121 receiving yards and a touchdown in the Week 3 win against the Minnesota Vikings before exiting the game on a trainers' cart with a towel on his head in the third quarter.

In his absence, five-time Pro Bowler Keenan Allen, who missed seven games last season due to injury, is likely to see an expanded role. Expected to contribute behind Allen are rookies Quentin Johnston and Derius Davis, three-year veteran Joshua Palmer and fourth-year veteran Jalen Guyton when returns from the PUP list with a knee injury.

Despite being 1-2 this season, Los Angeles is second in the NFL in yards per game, partly due to Williams' 249 receiving yards this year.
