The Denver Broncos are releasing edge rusher Frank Clark after six games with the team, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Clark played in just two games this season for Denver, and joins Randy Gregory as veterans the team has opted to move on from in the last two weeks.

The Broncos and Clark reportedly agreed on a $3.5 million pay cut on Wednesday, saving the team $1.68 million as Denver sought to trade Clark before releasing him.

Denver currently has the NFL's worst defense and a roster filled with players that weren't chosen by new head coach Sean Payton.

Now, it appears Payton is parting ways with veterans that aren't scheme fits as the Denver seems destined for a youth movement and a top-10 pick in April's draft.

Gregory quickly found work elsewhere after the Broncos when the San Francisco 49ers traded for the veteran.

Clark, a three-time Pro Bowler and two-time Super Bowl champion, could have similar luck as a free agent as both of his former teams — the Kansas City Chiefs and Seattle Seahawks — could use another pass rusher.
