MLB’s postseason rolls on with the Twins facing the Astros and the Rangers playing the Orioles

The American League division series resumes today, and the Rangers will advance to the ALCS with a win. The Rangers went into Baltimore and took the first two games in the best-of-five series.

Dean Kremer will start for the Orioles and Nathan Eovaldi will take the mound for Texas. After the Astros took Game 1 at home, the Twins won Game 2 behind a great performance from Pablo Lopez. Cristian Javier will start for Houston and Sonny Gray will get the ball for Minnesota. The Twins and Rangers are around -135 money line favorites on most books. Here are my best bets for Tuesday in MLB:

Corey Seager OVER 1.5 total bases (-110 on DraftKings Sportsbook)
Seager has been one of the best hitters in baseball this season, and he’s been even better against right-handed pitching and at home. The Rangers shortstop gets right-hander Dean Kremer and Texas is at home. Seager is three-for-six in his career against Kremer. At home, Seager is hitting .337 with 58 runs, 23 home runs, 56 RBIs, a 1.13 OPS and a .455 wOBA. Against right-handers, Seager is batting .333 with 26 home runs and 71 RBIs with 1.075 OPS and a .439 wOBA.

Yordan Álvarez OVER 1.5 hits+runs+RBIs (-105 on BetMGM Sportsbook)
Álvarez is off to a good start in the series’ first two games. He is four-for-seven with four runs, three home runs and five RBIs. Right-hander Sonny Gray starts for the Twins and Alvarez hit 25 of his 31 home runs in the regular season against righties. The Astros designated hitter hit much better on the road, too. He batted .307 with 21 home runs, 56 RBIs, a 1.103 OPs and a .454 wOBA in 205 at-bats. There’s a good chance Alvarez gets at-bats with runners on base and a RBI hit is all we need to cash this.

Cristian Javier OVER 4.5 strikeouts (-110 on DraftKings Sportsbook)
Javier had a disappointing season after a great one in 2022. His strikeout rate went from 33.2% to 23.1%. Javier finished the season strong with a 32.3% strikeout rate and a 12.9% swinging strike rate in September. The Astros right-hander gets a great matchup against the Twins, who led baseball with a 26.6% strikeout rate. In the playoffs, the Twins are striking out 30.2% of the time. Javier isn’t likely to go deep into the game, but if he can pitch five innings he will cash this prop.
