West Virginia GOP AG Patrick Morrisey Leads Field in Governor’s Race: Poll
The same survey found that voters favored West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice in the race for US Senate
Republican voters favor West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey over State Del. Moore Capito in the state's gubernatorial race, a new WMOV/American Pulse survey found.
The survey found that 30.5% of Republicans said they would support Morrissey, while 22.6% said they would vote for Capito.
The same survey found that voters support West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice over Rep. Alex Mooney, R-W.Va., to replace Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., in the U.S. Senate. Justice garnered 55.7% support among Republican voters, while 22.1% of voters said they are undecided and 19.9% said they would support Mooney.
Manchin announced he would not seek another term in Congress in early November, stoking presidential bid rumors and fueling concern among Democrats that the party will not be able to maintain control of the legislative body.
The poll was conducted among 414 voters and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.8 percentage points.
