Virginia Gov. Youngkin Gains Third $1 Million Donation From GOP Megadonor Who Wants Him to Make White House Bid

Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s PAC has received a third $1 million donation from billionaire Thomas Peterffy. The GOP megadonor wants Youngkin to join the 2024 presidential race.

“I think that Governor Youngkin would be an ideal candidate for the Republican Party and I very much hope that he’s going to enter the race,” Peterffy told Fox Business in late July.

Peterffy's two other donations to the Spirit of Virginia PAC are from earlier this year — one in August, and one in April.

Youngkin’s PAC is setting fundraising records, as reported by WRIC-TV, and while his PAC has not commented on the donations, Youngkin claims he is focused solely on Virginia’s Nov. 7 state elections.

The governor is hosting  a number of GOP megadonors for a private retreat at the Historic Cavalier Hotel, amid rumors he could launch a 2024 presidential bid.

The "Red Vest Retreat" is set to happen on October 17 and 18.
