Former President Donald Trump on Sunday blasted Republican lawmakers for not beginning impeachment proceedings against President Joe Biden, calling the president a "Stone Cold Crook."

"The Republicans in Congress, though well meaning, keep talking about an Impeachment “Inquiry” on Crooked Joe Biden," Trump wrote in a post on his Truth Social platform. "Look, the guy got bribed, he paid people off, and he wouldn’t give One Billion Dollars to Ukraine unless they “got rid of the Prosecutor.” Biden is a Stone Cold Crook-You don’t need a long INQUIRY to prove it, it’s already proven. These lowlifes Impeached me TWICE (I WON!), and Indicted me FOUR TIMES - For NOTHING! Either IMPEACH the BUM, or fade into OBLIVION. THEY DID IT TO US!"

Republicans in the House Oversight Committee are investigating the Biden family's domestic and international business dealings and have long criticized the president for his son Hunter Biden's ongoing legal issues, blasting his now-obsolete plea deal as a "sweetheart deal."

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., last week said that Republicans could launch an impeachment inquiry into Biden as early as September if the administration does not cooperate with investigations.

Trump was impeached twice during his time in office but was acquitted by the GOP-controlled Senate both times.

Trump is currently facing four separate legal cases in New York, Florida, Georgia and Washington, D.C. He was booked on Thursday in Atlanta on charges related to his efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
