Trump Says Indictments ‘Allow’ Him to Go After Biden: It ‘Would be Very Easy’
Trump said 'the only reason they indicted me is that we’re leading him in the polls'
Former President Donald Trump on Sunday told supporters in Iowa if he wins the 2024 presidential election, it would be "very easy" to get back at President Joe Biden after the indictments.
“They brought our country to a new level," Trump told the crowd at his rally on Sunday. "That allows us to do it to Biden when he gets out, [...] And that would be very easy.”
Trump quickly walked back the threat, saying he wouldn't "want" to do it.
"Once you do that, you’ve set yourself on a very downward, very bad path. Very bad path, but a thing like this has never happened before," Trump continued.
“And I would never have done that until they did something that’s never been done. They indicted a former president,” Trump said. “And the only reason they indicted me is that we’re leading him in the polls. We’re killing them.”

During the more than hour-long address, Trump also repeated accusations that the indictments against him are the Justice Department and the Biden Administration's way of targeting him and "cheating."
