Trump Says Biden Would Make Menendez ‘Look Like a Baby’ If Charged With Corruption
Of his own ongoing legal woes, Trump said: 'I had never heard of the word indictment, now I get indicted like every three days.'
Donald Trump used the recent indictment of Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., on bribery charges to take a knock at President Joe Biden.
Speaking at a rally Wednesday night in Detroit, the former president accused Biden of corruption, based on House Republican investigations into the president and his son Hunter and claimed Biden couldn't handle the pressure like he has amid multiple legal probes.
"Can you imagine an unannounced raid on his many homes? He would have made Sen. Menendez look like a baby," Trump said. He later described Biden's 2024 campaign as being like "a wretched old vulture trying to finish off his prey."
The former president was referring to his Mar-a-Lago property going through an FBI raid to obtain classified documents that were allegedly mishandled after Trump left office.
Menendez had pleaded not guilty after being indicted on bribery accusations.
Over a dozen Democratic lawmakers have called for Menendez to resign amid the charges.
Trump chose to hold the event, a rally for a crowd of auto workers at a non-union plant, instead of attending the second GOP primary debate.
