Trump Prosecutor Named in Fani Willis Accusations Billed $4,000 for Meetings With White House Officials: Report
Following the allegations against Willis and Wade, Trump deemed the case 'totally compromised' and predicted that it would be dropped
Nathan Wade, the special prosecutor hired by District Attorney Fani Willis to aid in her election interference prosecution of former President Donald Trump, reportedly billed the Fulton County District Attorney's office $4,000 for meeting with White House officials, the New York Post reported.
Wade, the Atlanta-based private attorney the Georgia State House Speaker has accused of having an inappropriate relationship with Willis, attended the meeting after he was tapped for the role in 2022, court documents reviewed by the New York Post revealed.
The court filing was submitted by Michael Roman, a former Trump official and Georgia co-defendant of the former president. Roman is arguing that Willis should be disqualified from overseeing the case due to her former and alleged romantic relationship with Wade.
Wade reportedly attended two meetings: one in Georgia and the other at the White House. On Nov. 18, 2022, he reportedly submitted a $2,000 invoice for an “interview with DC/White House.” The topics discussed at the meetings, according to the New York Post, are currently unclear.
The New York Post reported that both interview took place long before Willis filed an indictment against Trump and his 18 co-conspirators where she charged them with racketeering under Georgia’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act.
Following the allegations against Willis and Wade, Trump deemed the case "totally compromised" and predicted that it will be dropped, although there has not been any official indication that will occur.
Willis, according to the Wall Street Journal, has been subpoenaed to testify at Wade's divorce proceedings.
