Trump Promises Immigration ‘Deportation Operation’ in Florida Rally
Trump's rally in Hialeah, Fla., was held in direct opposition to the third Republican presidential debate, which was happening across town at the same time
Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday said that he would institute mass deportations of immigrants on his first day in office after skipping the GOP debate to speak at a rally in Florida.
“Under Biden the U.S. has become the dumping ground of the world," Trump said to the crowd. "They’re coming in in levels never seen before — never seen before in any country. There’s never been anything like this. Our country is being invaded. This is an invasion.”
He continued, prompting cheers from the crowd: “On Day One I will terminate every open borders policy of the Biden Administration. And we will begin the largest domestic deportation operation in American history.”
Trump's rally in Hialeah where over 90% of the residents are Hispanic and over 70% are foreign-born, according to data from the U.S. Census, was held in direct opposition to the third Republican presidential debate, which was happening across town at the same time.
“We have a lot of great Cubans here,” Trump said at one point. “And no one ever did more for Americans who love Cuba than a gentleman named Donald J. Trump when he was president.”
