Former President Donald Trump left his private golf club on Monday in Bedminster, N.J., for a flight to Miami for his initial court appearance Tuesday on 37 federal charges relating to his handling of classified documents after leaving the White House.

A CNN reporter shared video on social media of the ex-president's motorcade leaving the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster.

Trump is scheduled to return to New Jersey on Tuesday after his initial court appearance for a previously-arranged fundraiser and to speak publicly about the federal charges brought by Special Counsel Jack Smith.

In Miami, Trump is expected to meet with his legal team in preparation for his upcoming court proceeding. The Monday meeting comes as Trump has been struggling to hire additional defense lawyers according to sources close to the matter who spoke with The Messenger.

Attorney David Markus has turned Trump down, but Miami-based defense attorney Ben Kuehne is meeting with the former president's legal team, a reporter from the Guardian posted Monday on Twitter.

Two attorneys working for Trump resigned last Friday after his indictment.
