Trump Endorses Sen. Mike Braun in Indiana Gubernatorial Bid
Braun said he was 'honored' to have the former president's endorsement
Former President Donald Trump has endorsed Sen. Mike Braun, R-Ind., in his bid to become governor of Indiana.
"I was proud to endorse Mike when he ran for the Senate in 2018, and I am proud to do so again," Trump said in a post on his social media platform Truth Social. "Mike Braun has my Complete and Total Endorsement to be the next Governor of the Great State of Indiana!"
Braun, a longtime Trump supporter, said he was "honored" to have the former president's endorsement in a statement.
"Like him, I'm a businessman who got involved in politics because I was worried about the direction of America and the politicians who failed to put the people first," Braun said.
The Indiana senator is competing to become the state's next governor in a competitive Republican primary with four other candidates.
