The View’s Joy Behar Hits Rep. Rashida Tlaib on Israel: ‘She Lies Like Trump’
The Democrat and 'squad' member blames Israel for a Gaza hospital blast despite US officials saying it is the work of a terrorist group
Donald Trump and Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., aren't two politicians most would quickly find similarities between, but The View co-host Joy Behar did, saying on Wednesday they both lie about the Israel-Hamas war.
Behar called out Tlaib on Wednesday after co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin, a former member of Trump's administration, accused Tlaib and Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., both members of the congressional 'squad,' of "dangerous antisemitism."
"She, Rashida, will not admit that that attack on the hospital came from Hamas. They have video showing it," Behar said, referring to a tweet Tlaib put out placing blame for a Gaza hospital blast that took the lives of hundreds on Israel.
Israeli officials placed blame on Islamic Jihad, a terrorist group in Gaza.
After reviewing Department of Defense data, President Joe Biden agreed Israel was not to blame. U.S. intelligence officials said on Tuesday they have "high confidence" the explosion was caused by a Palestinian rocket that broke apart due to an engine failure.
"They have video showing it! But she goes out there and lies like Trump," Behar said about Tlaib.
Griffin noted during the Wednesday conversation a rise in anti-semitic incidents, specifically on college campuses since Hamas' October 7 attack on Israel that claimed more than 1,400 lives.

Tlaib has received pushback over her public comments on the Israel-Hamas conflict. Rep. Jared Moskowitz, D-Fla., recommended censuring his fellow Democrat be considered after Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., announced her plans to introduce a censure.
Tlaib received backlash for leading a protest on Capitol Hill calling for a ceasefire where numerous people were arrested. It was organized by Jewish Voice for Peace, a pro-Palestinian organization.
Tlaib's tweet blaming Israel for the Gaza hospital blast remains live, as of this writing. In a Monday statement, she also doubled down on the position.
"Media outlets and third-party analysts have raised doubts about claims and evidence offered by both Israel and the Gaza Ministry of Health, and I agree with the United Nations that an independent investigation is necessary," she wrote, accusing both the U.S. and Israel of having "long, documented histories of misleading the public about wars and war crimes."
