South Dakota Gov. Noem Says She Would Join Trump 2024 Ticket ‘In a Heartbeat’
Noem is expected to endorse Trump for president in the 2024 election at a rally on Friday
Republican South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem says she would "absolutely" join the ticket of former President Donald Trump as a vice presidential candidate if asked.
"I would in a heartbeat," Noem said during a Thursday interview with Newsmax. "Just because you respect the position and the person who asks you to do something and then see if you really believe that you could make a difference."
Noem, 51, clarified that it is "early" to be having conversations about running mates at this point in the election, but she says Trump is doing "very well" in the Republican primary and people don't have to "guess" the kinds of decisions he would make in the Oval Office.
"I don't see how anybody else can beat him and I've supported him in this race because he's the best one to lead our country," the governor said.
She is expected to endorse Trump for president in the 2024 election at a rally on Friday, which was first reported by CNN.
The South Dakota governor has been regularly floated as a possible Trump running mate, along with a number of others, including other GOP hopefuls like Vivek Ramaswamy and Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C.
Noem suggested that Trump needs someone "strong" by his side in the presidency.

"Trump needs a strong partner if he’s going to take back the White House," she said. "And he’s going to need somebody who knows what it’s like to run a business, to be an employee, earn a paycheck, but also having a wife, mom, and grandma isn’t bad either. And I think that that kind of perspective would weigh in very well on a lot of policy decisions."
