Sen. Schumer Makes Cameo in Broadway Musical

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., appeared on Broadway on Tuesday night during the final scene of "Gutenberg! The Musical!"

The Democratic senator appeared as a producer who finances a show written by two of the shows characters, portrayed by Josh Gad and Andrew Rannells.

“I’m a Broadway producer and I hold in my hands a Broadway contract," Schumer said during the show. "You’ve got your show."

The senator then danced offstage to the cheers of the audience.

"What fun to join Doug, Bud and everyone at @GutenbergBwy tonight!" Schumer said in a post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

The musical often has different celebrities appear in the role of "producer" for its performances. Past cameos have included "Frozen" co-stars Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel, among others.
