Sen. Ron Johnson Criticizes Biden Administration for ‘Blind Eye’ at Border

‘This administration has its head completely buried in the sand,’ said Johnson

Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., sharply criticized President Joe Biden’s handling of the southern border in an interview Sunday.

“This administration has its head completely buried in the sand,” said Johnson on Cats Roundtable WABC 770. “They won’t even admit [the border is] a problem. They call it a ‘challenge.’”

Johnson had particularly stern words for the Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, who testified before the Senate last week.

”He just hemmed and hawed and would never answer the question at all,” Johnson told program host John Catsimatidis.

The senator complained that Mayorkas would not give a clear figure on how many people have illegally entered the country during Biden’s time in office.

”Do you think there might be a terrorist or two in that 1.7 million people" who entered illegally? Johnson sarcastically asked.

Last month, officials reported a record number of illegal border encounters.

The Biden administration has struggled with high migration in the last two years, with major cities, and states expressing their struggles to keep up with the rate of their population increase.

Johnson also lashed FBI Director Chris Wray, whose job, Johnson said, was to restore trust in the FBI.

”He completely failed in his primary mission,” said Johnson.
