Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-La., said he would be "open to" speaking with representatives of the No Labels Party about a 2024 ticket at this point in the race.

"If they came and spoke to me, I would certainly speak to them back," Cassidy said in an interview on NBC's "Meet the Press."

Cassidy joined other congressional Republicans in casting doubt on President Joe Biden's mental fitness in the interview and called for the president to release a neurological evaluation of his cognitive ability. The Louisiana Republican has also been a vocal critic of former President Donald Trump and previously called on him to drop out of the 2024 race.

The No Labels Party describes itself as a party for for those who feel "politically homeless" and are "tired of the extremes on the left and the right." Representatives of the group have previously signaled the party would consider launching a 2024 presidential ticket if Biden and Trump are named as the Republican and Democratic presidential nominees, which polling indicates could be likely even as Trump leads the Republican primary field amid a series of legal woes.
