Rep. George Santos, R-N.Y., on Thursday said that he will introduce an expulsion resolution against Rep. Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y., for pulling a House office building fire alarm.

"That's consistency," Santos said during a press conference early Thursday morning. "Let's hold our own accountable, but let's make sure we deal with the precedent of the House."

Bowman dismissed Santos' comments in a statement Thursday morning.

"No one in Congress, or anywhere in America, takes soon-to-be former Congressman George Santos seriously," Bowman said. "This is just another meaningless stunt in his long history of cons, antics, and outright fraud."

Bowman pulled the fire alarm in September as lawmakers debated funding measures ahead of the spending deadline. He later pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge resulting from the incident, for which he faced intense scrutiny from Republicans.

Santos' declaration that he would introduce the expulsion resolution came at a press conference during which he railed against the effort to oust him from Congress. A vote on the expulsion resolution is expected Friday.
