More Than 20% Say They Would Consider Voting for RFK Jr.: Poll
Robert F. Kennedy appears to pull support equally from President Joe Biden and Donald Trump, according to a new survey
More than 20% of voters are open to supporting Robert F. Kennedy's longshot 2024 presidential campaign, according to a new poll, but it remains unclear what impact he'll have on the face.
According to a Monmouth University survey, published Monday, 21% either definitely will or probably will cast a vote for Kennedy in 2024. Another 6% say they don't know, and 74% definitely will not or probably will not support him.
Monmouth University's poll was conducted November 30-December 4 among more than 800 adults via phone calls and survey through text.
Kennedy, who was previously running as a Democrat, has support that appears fueled by voters' lack of enthusiasm for a rematch between President Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
Nearly 50% of respondents in the survey said they are not at all excited about the potential rematch. Another 20% said they were "not too" enthusiastic, while 13% said they were "somewhat."
Just 14% said they are very enthusiastic about Biden and Biden battling it out for the White House again.

Kennedy's impact on the 2024 race remains to be seen. He's garnered more press attention than most third party candidates, but he has the costly uphill battle of making state ballots, and it's he appears to equally pull support from Trump and Biden.
Monmouth's data, however, doesn't suggest Kennedy Jr. is pulling enough from either candidate to make a difference. Only 3% of Trump voters could see themselves "definitely" casting a ballot for Kennedy. Similarly, only 4% of Biden voters said they could do the same.
Another 11% of Trump's supporters and 10% of Biden supporters said they could "probably" support Kennedy's independent run.
