RFK Jr. on 2024 White House Bid: ‘My Intention is to Spoil the Race for Both of Them’
Pollsters have found Kennedy polling around 15% in a three-person race with Biden and Trump
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Thursday said he believes he can beat both former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden in the presidential election in 2024.
“My intention is to spoil the race for both of them,” Kennedy told NewsNation host Chris Cuomo. “I think I’m going to win the race.”
After initially entering the race as a Democrat, Kennedy is now running as an independent. Pollsters have found Kennedy polling around 15% in a three-person race with Biden and Trump.
The longshot White House hopeful also blasted Republicans for their debate performance this week.
“We didn’t hear any solutions except for blowing up people and you know, having more wars and having ‘us against them,' ” Kennedy said of the GOP candidates that appeared on stage on Wednesday.
Historically, independent candidates poll well above the actual percentage of the votes they get in the election. This is thanks, in part, to the difficulty in getting on the ballot without the existing infrastructure parties provide.

“An entire generation of kids has lost faith in our country and lost hope for their own futures, the only generation in American history that believes that they’re going to do worse than their parents,” Kennedy said, “and I’d like to see debates with Republicans and Democrats that address that issue.”
A super PAC aligned with Kennedy announced it will spend between $10 million and $15 million in an attempt to overcome this setback, with a ballot access campaign covering 10 states. Utah agreed to push back its ballot deadline from January 2024 to March 5, 2024 in a concession to the Kennedy campaign.
